Default Convert Toy Into RC???

Has anyone ever tried to convert a kids toy car/truck into an.working RC??? I have a few old vintage trucks that I'm thinking about starting as a project to see if I can accomplish this idea. Any idea's or helpful advice would be great!

I meant I am trying to get one done! Thinking of putting in an AE5 with RC4WD 80T and try to raise the suspension a little higher and change the wheels, prolly 1.9 pit bull rock! All parts laying around as spares might as well put them to use!
