I raced U4 with my bomber a lot a couple years back. My 3 boys are supper into scale, trail and crawling these days. I also sold my 1:1 crawler Jeep end of 2018 and started needing a crawler in my life again.
DX5C U4 Bomber Kit Wraith skid, trans with vanquish dig (thanks for the help with picking that one Justin, it works great) Wraith vanquish titanium links Wraith vanquish steering front and rear Shorter shocks Belly up skid mod I have been running it this way for about 6-9 months. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by MCE Jason; 01-02-2020 at 04:28 PM. |

The Vanquish Wraith trans with dig has been really fun to use. It for sure makes the rig more capable. I have used it in 3 position and 2 position. 3 position- power/ neutral/ lock. 2 position- power/ lock. After many hours of driving for me I like the dig in 2 position, momentary. I push forward on my “F” channel switch and it locks the rear, I release pressure and it is back to power.

With the DX5C the 4 wheel steering is supper simple to set up. I used the “D” channel switch to jump between pre programmed steering options.
Pre set steering options. Rear locked/ front steering Rear steering opposite of front. Rear steering same direction as front, crabbing I do not use rear steering only. One click down on my “D” switch puts me on rear steering opposite of front. Two clicks down puts me at crab steering. Supper simple and easy to use while truck is running on obstacles. ![]() Rear steering helps with “rock bouncing” style hill climbing. There are hills I can only make with rear steering on. It also helps in the rocks allowing you to put the rear tire traction patch in contact with rocks by moving it left or right. ![]() ![]() Suspension is set up with thicker oil to slow the shocks down. Ride is set at 20% compression 80% extension. I was never into flex with my 1:1 builds so I did the same with this one. I hang tires all the time but have very little suspension unloading issues. It is supper stable for a bomber. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I moved the front links in to allow the large 2.2’s more steering. I will be dropping the tires down to some 5.75” for comps this year. These are almost 6".

![]() ![]() Picked up some new high quality wheels. Gear Head RC 2.2" CAC EZ-Loc Beadlock Wheel Aluminum https://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/gea1032.htm These wheels are really easy to mount tires up to and built very well. I did have to use a 10mm hex and grind a small bit off the knuckle weights on the front to make them work. All in all, these wheels are money well spent.
